BELGRADE, June 17 (Hina) - Bosnian Serb Ranko Cesic, indicted for abusing and killing imprisoned Croats and Bosniaks (Moslems) in the Luka concentration camp and their persecution from Brcko, departed for The Hague accompanied by his
attorney, Yugoslav Assistant Justice Minister Nebojsa Sarkic said on Monday.
BELGRADE, June 17 (Hina) - Bosnian Serb Ranko Cesic, indicted for
abusing and killing imprisoned Croats and Bosniaks (Moslems) in the
Luka concentration camp and their persecution from Brcko, departed
for The Hague accompanied by his attorney, Yugoslav Assistant
Justice Minister Nebojsa Sarkic said on Monday. #L#
A spokesman for the Hague-based international war crimes tribunal
has confirmed that Cesic arrived in The Hague and was immediately
placed in detention.
Cesic was arrested on May 25 near Belgrade as one of 23 war crimes
indictees listed by the federal government when it called on the
accused to surrendered to the tribunal.
Of the total 23 indictees, five of them have surrendered to the
tribunal -- Dragoljub Ojdanic, Nikola Sainovic, Milan Martic, Mile
Mrksic and Momcilo Gruban. Among those still at large are former
Bosnian Serb leaders Radovan Karadzic and Ratko Mladic.
