ZAGREB, June 17 (Hina) - The Zagreb police arrested a man, Saban J.
who tried to illegally transport six Turks four days ago, the police
reported on Monday #L#.
In this operation, the police issued a warrant for the arrest of
another man involved in the crime.
Charges were pressed against the six Turks who illegally entered
Croatia near the Croatian-Yugoslav border crossing of Bajakovo.
They were transported in a car near the frontier and then entered
Croatia on foot walking through fields on 12 June. They slept in a
nearby village, and later were transported to the house of Saban J.
in Zagreb where they waited for a connection that should have helped
them to travel to Italy, but they were discovered.
According to the police the Turks paid 2,000 euro to unknown
smugglers in Pristina, Kosovo, for the organisation of their
illegal trip.
Saban J. and Huso H. organised their stay in Zagreb for 120 euro, but
the police nabbed the former while the latter is still at large.
