"We are deeply disappointed by the fact that the current
authorities, like the past ones, continue to ignore dozens of joint
or individual requests of Bosniak associations for the
reinstatement of Bosniaks in the preamble of the Croatian
Constitution, because we believe that this is not only a formal
issue as one wishes to present it, but a symbol of the attitude
towards Bosniaks in Croatia," the letter says.
The letter was signed by the representatives of the Bosniak
national community of Croatia, the leadership of the Islam
community in Croatia, the Bosniak cultural society "Preporod", the
Bosniak charity organisation "Merhamet", and the Association of
Bosniak Homeland War Veterans.
They said they wished to stop any further negative attitude towards
the Bosniak minority in Croatia, and asked that the issue of the
reinstatement of Bosniaks in the preamble of the Croatian
Constitution be forwarded into urgent parliamentary procedure,
which, they said, was the basis for solving all other vital problems
of Bosniaks in Croatia.
