DSS vice president Dragan Marsicanin told reporters the DSS MPs did
not walk out of just today's session but would not participate in
parliamentary work at all.
"The citizens of Serbia have to know that starting today, due to the
illegal stripping of DSS people's representatives of their
mandates and the change of the citizens' electoral will, the
Parliament as an institution which had legitimacy no longer
exists," said Marsicanin.
He said the DSS would lodge complaints with the Serbian
constitutional and supreme courts in order to contest the "illegal"
decision of the Serbian parliament's administrative committee.
This committee last night decided to strip of their mandates 21 DSS
MPs and 13 MPs from other parties making up the DOS ruling
coalition, with the explanation that their attendance of
parliamentary sessions had been irregular.
The Serbian election commission will consider the decision today
and request the coalition and parties whose MPs have been ousted to
submit the names of new deputies.
