The President's guests included Academic Dusan Bilandzic, Academic
Dalibor Brozovic, Josip Manolic, Antun Vrdoljak and Milojko
Vuckovic while Kresimir Balenovic - also a member of that
presidency - excused himself. At that first session of the first
multi-party Croatian Sabor of the Socialist Republic of Croatia,
the first president of the presidency to be appointed was Franjo
Tudjman.
Evoking memories of those days, Mesic said that they were difficult
times but responsible too. Here we see people who at the time took on
a great responsibility to introduce Croatia to democracy and I
believe that we succeeded together with you all, President Mesic
stressed.
It was announced that the encounter would be the forum to deal with a
great number of current political and economic topics.
