County Court on Monday in connection with charges filed by the
Association of Small Shareholders regarding an alleged fraud
committed nine years ago involving shares of the "Slobodna
Dalmacija" daily. #L#
The charges state that the director of Splitska Bank in May 1993 at
Kutle's demand arranged the sale of 37,184 shares of the Split-
based newspaper, which were owned by the bank, to Kutle's Globus
Holding. The shares were sold for DEM3.7 million. This transaction
damaged the newspaper by a minimum DEM6.3 million, small
shareholders claim.
After the half-hour interview, Kutle declined to make any
statements. According to unofficial reports, he denied the
charges, claiming he had paid for the purchased shares and saw
nothing contentious in the matter.
