In an interview released by the Sarajevo "Oslobodenje" daily,
Buljubasic accused the Party for Democratic Action (SDA) of
violating the international embargo on arms and ammunition against
Belgrade.
An inspection of Defence Ministry documents indicates that illegal
arms trade was conducted with Yugoslavia during the Kosovo crisis,
Buljubasic said.
He explained that the federal government was investigating the
matter of this affair, however, it would be difficult to ascertain
where the money earned from the arms sale ended up,as the deal was
illegal.
Responding to frequent criticism against the Defence Ministry
about the recent sale of arms where one of the mediators was an
Israeli company, Buljubasic said that deals similar to this with
Israel were conducted in the past and no-one raised any questions.
Similar deals were conducted through Zagreb for Israel. The
question is whether the funds gained remained in Israel or were re-
exported, he said.
He added that deals with Israel were conducted through Croatia
including companies from Muslim sections of Bosnia-Herzegovina.
Bosnian Foreign Minister Zlatko Lagumdzija on Thursday reported to
the Bosnian Parliament that between 1997 and 2000, a million
detonators had been exported out of the country and used to kill
innocent people.
According to information obtained by the "Slobodna Bosna" weekly,
the Bosnian Federation military industry legally exported arms and
explosives to about thirty countries and at the same time the black
market was just as successful.
Illegal arms sales were conducted not only to Yugoslavia but
Macedonia too.
The weekly further noted that a significant number of T-84 tanks
produced in Novi Travnik in Bosnia found their way to Israel.
