Crkvenac said the government would not give up the essential idea
regarding taxes for authors fees and other incomes.
According to this idea, mandatory contributions ( for pension and
health insurance) would in the future be paid for fees of artists,
scientists, students and similar professions, as well as fees for
membership in administrative councils, assemblies and supervisory
boards.
The government's idea was yesterday harshly criticised by the
parliament, so the opposition and the ruling coalition asked of the
government to exempt certain categories in art and sciences,
students and reporters from the new system.
Crkvenac told reporters that his ministry would make maximum
concessions, provide benefits and stimulation to form new
conditions which would make the development of free zones
possible.
Free zones can be an important factor in employment, exports and
stepping up economic development, the minister said. He announced
that suggestions for stimulating foreign investments and the kind
would go along the new laws.
Crkvenac said that the government budget was not being realised
better than last year in revenue and expenditure, and did not intend
to suggest any revision or corrections in the budget.
