GENERAL BOBETKO'S BOOK PRESENTED

ZAGREB, May 17 (Hina) - The coup against the Homeland War and its people is calculated to destroy the last thread of cohesion and make way for dilettantes and anti-Croatian people with the fundamental aim and dream to bring down the Croatian state, retired staff general Janko Bobetko said on Friday at a presentation of his new book entitled "The Sava Did Flow Towards Zagreb".
#L# "We all expected that with the conclusion of the Homeland War there would be no chance that neo-Stalinism, revenge and repression of all forms could recur as they do today, when our material goods are being sold off and the standard of living is being brought down to mere survival", General Bobetko said. He added that it was time now - or at least at the next elections - for Croatia to stand upright and turn towards realising the obligations left behind in the legacy of the Homeland War, which seeks a future for Croatia. Reflecting on his first book, "All My Battles", which part of the press described as good material for the Hague war crimes tribunal, Bobetko said that if the tribunal had studied his book well, it could itself ascertain exactly what difficulties were encountered in that defensive, liberating and just war. Comparing what the press wrote during the war with what is happening now, Bobetko said that only one conclusion transpired - the Homeland War, this nation's most sacred thing, must gradually disappear from our cultural and political lives and those who led the war must be brought down to being paupers and humiliated figures. "If because of our negligence we should be faced with the downfall of the Croatian state, history would not forgive us, and I don't know how many centuries we would need to create it again and what it would even look like", Bobetko said.
