SARAJEVO, May 15 (Hina) - Claims that Croatia is exposed to the
threat of the Taleban, who are allegedly preparing for terrorist
operations in Bosnia-Herzegovina, are irresponsible and
completely unfounded, Bosnian Foreign Ministry spokesman Amer
Kapetanovic said in Sarajevo on Wednesday. #L#
Commenting on a statement by Israeli parliamentary deputy Joseph
Tommy Lapid in the Zagreb-based daily "Jutarnji list" that hundreds
of Taleban "sleepers" were in Bosnia-Herzegovina and that they
could pose a threat to Croatia, Kapetanovic told reporters the
statement was made by "an irresponsible person".
"Relations between Bosnia-Herzegovina and Israel are good and
cannot be jeopardised by the statements of irresponsible
individuals," Kapetanovic said, reminding that the Foreign
Ministry had previously reacted to similar statements made by
Lapid.
"We have already stated that claims about Bosnia-Herzegovina as a
terrorist haven are completely false," Kapetanovic said, stressing
that the authorities in Sarajevo had long ago joined the anti-
terrorist coalition and were efficiently performing their share of
tasks in the field.
The Bosnian Foreign Ministry earlier sent a protest note to the
Israeli authorities over claims by some Israeli parliament members
who spoke about Bosnia as an oasis for terrorists.
"Violence against civilians must cease, Palestinians have the
right to their own state and Israelis have the right to security,"
Kapetanovic said, reiterating Bosnia's stand on the Middle East
crisis. He added that this stand was supported almost by the entire
international community.
