ZUPANJA, May 15 (Hina) - A rescue operation following an accident in which a boat carrying 15 Turkish Kurds, who were trying to illegally cross the Croatian-Bosnian state border on the Sava river near the eastern Croatian town of
Zupanja, turned over on Monday night, continued on Wednesday, police said. Four Kurds have been found and rescued so far. One of the illegal immigrants managed to swim to the bank on the Bosnian side and report the accident to the Bosnian border service. The Croatian police joined in the rescue operation that followed. According to the rescued Kurds, another 12 Kurds were on the boat - eight men, two women and two children. All were trying to reach Italy.(hina) it
