"The SFOR's Czech battalion in Banja Luka imports cosmetics in
amounts which would meet the requirements of the ex-Yugoslav
market. Under the contract stemming from the Dayton peace
agreement, international troops in Bosnia and Herzegovina are not
obliged to pay taxes and duties on imported goods," Lesic told
reporters.
He added that more than 50 percent of the whiskey on the Bosnian
market was imported to supply international troops. "All those
goods enter Bosnia and Herzegovina without supervision, mostly
ending on the black market," he said.
