The right to an education is a fundamental human right, Deputy
County Prefect Dragutin Lesar stated, adding that the latest report
issued by the Education and Sports Ministry, or rather a review
conducted by qualified supervisors, notes that there are no
irregularities with regard to schools, education or human rights
for Romany children in Medjimurje which is considered to be a
European oriented county where accusations like these can be quite
harmful.
As Milan Ignac, president of the largest Romany settlement in
Medjimurje told Hina on Thursday, segregation and discrimination
is being fabricated by some other Romany "leaders" who only want to
promote themselves and are not interested in sincere integration
and socialisation of the Romany.
