"The results of the visits can be divided in two groups. On the one
hand, they confirmed a high level of political understanding
between Croatia and the Baltic countries and the potential for a
better economic cooperation, and on the other, they helped
establish partnership between the countries which share many
similarities from the recent past as well as future goals," Picula
said.
Estonia and Latvia are a step-two from NATO and slightly further
away from the European Union, Picula said, stressing the importance
of economic cooperation with the two countries, whose economies he
said were complementary to Croatia's.
