"Economic Progress" a bulletin published by the Croatian Chamber of
Commerce, released the latest figures concerning financial data
for the first nine months of 2001 encompassing data relating to
55,587 businessmen with a total of 718,000 employees.
In the said period, these businessmen realised US$28.68 billion in
total revenues which is nominally US$3.50 billion more than for the
same period the year before.
At the same time their total expenditure amounted to US$27.57
billion which was nominally US$3.24 billion more than for the same
period the year before.
With that, the total revenue for 521 large companies (that employed
307 thousand workers) amounted to US$13.98 billion and a total
expenditure of US$12.87 billion.
A total of 1,696 medium-sized businesses (employing 160 thousand

A little more than three-quarters of the total revenue was realised
on the domestic market with an increase of 14.4 per cent. Of the

more than for the same period the previous year.
