"Splitska Banka conducts its business completely legitimately and
is stable and there will be no events similar to those in Rijecka
Banka because Splitska Banka is not involved in any speculative
business," Bolotin told Hina. He added that Splitska Banka was a
conservative bank that dealt exclusively with deposits and loans.
Bolotin also stressed that the bank's business was given a positive
assessment by foreign strategic partners following a detailed
audit. On April 24 Splitska Banka will be officially taken over by
Bank Austria Creditanstalt, a member of the HVB banking group.
Bolotin further claimed that the situation at the counters is
constantly being monitored and there was no indication of any
outflow of savings.
Last year, the bank saw a profit of 128 million kuna.
