"I am against the case being dragged through the media, but the fact
remains that there are some serious accusations made by patients
against Dr Asim Kurjak," Friganovic told Hina.
Some media have ran the claims of patients treated at Sveti duh
hospital and Dr Kurjak's private clinics that Kurjak had made it
possible for their ova to be removed without their consent. The ova
were then fertilised and transplanted to other patients, the
patients say.
Kurjak and his team are also being accused of removing uterus walls
from their patients with no valid reason, in operations the
patients paid a thousand euros for, which was the major cause of
their infertility.
"I expect the police, State Prosecutor's Office and the Medical
Association to investigate the accusations as soon as possible so
both Dr Kurjak and the patients can be protected," Friganovic
said.
