THE HAGUE, April 3 (Hina) - The defence for Mladen Naletilic Tuta on
Wednesday presented several video recordings during the testimony
of Croatian General Slobodan Praljak. One of the recordings was
taken in summer 1993 showing that despite the obvious anger of the
local Croats, Praljak ensured the unhindered passage of a
humanitarian aid convoy for the Muslim population in Mostar. #L#
The recording shows that after a convoy bound for eastern Mostar had
been stopped in Citluk, Praljak, wearing a combat uniform without
any markings of rank, climbed onto a white U.N. transporter and
spoke to the people telling them that the convoy had to
unconditionally pass through. He commanded that the army disperse
the crowd and ensure passage for the convoy which in fact did occur
accompanied by angry outcries from those gathered.
The defence showed a propaganda recording by the Army of Bosnia-
Herzegovina which praised the "Jihad against the enemy", and showed
army training camps for Islamic fighters and their weaponry. The
recordings further showed talks conducted with foreign fighters,
so-called Mujahedin.
Amongst others there was a recording of a parade of the 7th Muslim
Brigade which encompassed the "El Mujaheed" battalion and was
greeted by the then president of Bosnia-Herzegovina, Alija
Izetbegovic.
