None of the five unions will depart from the stand that the changed
collective agreement should not be signed, said a representative of
the Independent Post and Telecommunications (HPT) Workers' Union
from Split, Rozana Duplancic, in front of the HT management
building in Zagreb.
The collective agreement, which was signed by only one of six HT
unions, violates not only the Labour Act but the International
Labour Organisation's Convention as well, she said.
The biggest HT union, the Croatian Telecommunications Workers'
Union, which signed the collective agreement, does not have the
right to represent all workers because 7,000 of 11,000 HT workers
are members of five HT unions, said Osijek Telecom Workers' Union
president Antun Rimac.
The unions again accused the HT management of stripping them of the
right to appoint union commissioners.
Four union commissioners have been on a hunger strike for three
days, demanding the collective agreement be cancelled.
The Association for Consumer Protection today joined the protest of
the HT unions.
