ZAGREB, March 24 (Hina) - Croatian Prime Minister Ivica Racan will participate in a meeting of prime ministers of the Vilnius Group (V-10) member countries to be held in Bucharest on Monday and Tuesday. At the meeting, the countries
aspiring to join NATO will discuss its contribution to combating terrorism.
ZAGREB, March 24 (Hina) - Croatian Prime Minister Ivica Racan will
participate in a meeting of prime ministers of the Vilnius Group (V-
10) member countries to be held in Bucharest on Monday and Tuesday.
At the meeting, the countries aspiring to join NATO will discuss its
contribution to combating terrorism.#L#
The prime ministers of the countries aspiring to join NATO and
senior representatives of NATO countries will discuss new threats
to the international security and cooperation.
The Vilnius group was founded in 2000 by nine countries signatories
to the Statement from Vilnius. The Vilnius Group comprises Albania,
Bulgaria, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Macedonia, Romania,
Slovakia and Slovenia. Croatia joined the Vilnius Group at a
meeting in Bratislava in May 2001.
Before the meeting in Bucharest, the Croatian prime minister will
hold talks with the host of the meeting, Romanian Prime Minister
Adrian Nastase. Racan will also meet Turkish Prime Minister Bulent
Ecevit.
On Tuesday, the Croatian Prime Minister is scheduled to hold talks
with Lithuanian Prime Minister Algirdas Mykolas Brazauskas.
The Croatian delegation to Bucharest will also include Foreign
Minister Tonino Picula.
