SARAJEVO, March 7 (Hina) - The situation of refugees and displaced persons is still dramatic, said Croatian and Bosnian Catholic bishops at a joint conference in Sarajevo on Wednesday. Croat refugees, in particular, are emigrating
from Bosnia in increasing numbers, the bishops added. "Bishops are again calling on responsible domestic and international officials to finally create political, legal and material possibilities for their return home, as well as for realising all other human and civil rights and freedoms," read Thursday's joint statement by the Bishops' Conference of Bosnia-Herzegovina and Croatian Bishops' Conference. According to Caritas data, during the recent war, more than 43 percent of the pre-war total of 760,852 Croats in Bosnia were expelled from the country. The war also displaced 25 percent of Bosnia's Muslims and 31 percent of its Serbs, Caritas data shows.(hina) np sb
