WASHINGTON, March 13 (Hina) - The World Bank issued a report on financial movements in the world, including a report on the situation in Croatia, in Washington on Wednesday. According to the report, Croatia's overall external debt at
the end of 2000 amounted to US$12.12 billion, or one billion dollars more than in 1999. Of this amount, US$7.7 billion are state and public debts with state guarantees. Considering the fact the Croatia's Gross National Product (GDP) in 2000 amounted to US$18.721 billion, the debt amounted to 64.7 percent of the GDP. According to the World Bank report, Croatia's export amounted to US$9.55 billion, while the import amounted to US$10.3 billion. Croatia's foreign currency reserves amounted to US$3.52 billion. According to the World Bank, Croatia should pay off US$1.7 billion of the capital amount and US$619 million of interests this year, mostly to private creditors.(h
