ZAGREB, March 1 (Hina) - The president of the Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ), Ivo Sanader, said on Friday the incumbent coalition government in Croatia faced its biggest and deepest crisis, and added that the HDZ was a serious
political force and would at all times have an adequate answer to the development of the situation. "Although the HDZ does not expect the coalition to break up now, since it is being preserved by the joint will for power which they prefer to the common well-being, the coalition will, if not today, fall apart within a few months or half a year, or a bit later, because it was formed on bad foundations -- not on a programme, but on opposition against the former HDZ government," Sanader said at a news conference.(hina) lml sb
