One part of a EUR3 million debt ZRS owes HZ has already been transferred to the level of Croatia's ministries of finance and transport. The two ministries will settle the debt on the model of the succession to the former Yugoslav federation. The other part of the debt, incurred after ZRS and HZ were established, will be settled through agreements between the management boards. At today's meeting HZ requested ZRS' support in its efforts to have as many oil products as possible transported by rail, an initiative supported by the Croatian Transport Ministry, in order to meet market demands more easily. Last year around 1,000 trains crossed HZ's two border crossings with ZRS, transporting 17,164 passengers and half a million tonnes of cargo. The turnover is expected to increase after the opening of a border bridge across the Sava river near Bosanski Samac. (hina) ha sb
