SPLIT, Feb 27 (Hina) - The Split County Court, at the request of the State Prosecutor's Office, on Wednesday decided to extend detention for another month for seven former and active military police officers charged with crimes
against Serb civilians at the Split military port Lora. Seven of eight military police suspects were arrested late last September. The eighth one is still at large. Early in January they went on a hunger strike, as they said, to draw public attention to the way their trial was being conducted and the fact that the extension of detention in their case was entirely unnecessary.(hina) ha sb
