ZAGREB, Feb 25 (Hina) - Croatian President Stjepan Mesic will pay an unofficial visit to Russia in April, after Russian Federation Ambassador to Croatia, Eduard Leonidovic Kuzmin, handed him an invitation on behalf of the Russian
President, Vladimir Putin. The two presidents will hold talks in Moscow on April 16. The visit is unofficial due to regulations of international protocol. The last official visit between two countries was in 1998 when the former Croatian President Franjo Tudjman visited Russia. Putin should now officially visit Croatia. Since Putin is not able to officially visit Croatia at this moment, and to prevent a long break in mutual visits at a high level, "the Croatian president was polite to accept the proposal for an unofficial visit to the Russian Federation", Kuzmin told Hina.(hina) np sb
