ZAGREB, Feb 20 (Hina) - Labour and Social Welfare Minister Davorko Vidovic on Wednesday announced Croatian citizens receiving pensions from Bosnia could soon be paid protection bonuses. If the Croatian parliament adopts a law on the
payment of protection bonuses on pensions from Bosnia in March, the payment could start April 1, Vidovic told Hina. A total of 84 million kuna (EUR11.26 million) from this year's budget have been secured for the implementation of the law, Vidovic added. Around 17,000 retirees, whom Bosnian pension funds pay low pensions or do not pay them regularly, should receive said bonuses. The total amount of a pension plus protection bonus should not exceed 1,150 kuna (EUR154.16), which is the amount of the lowest protected pension in Croatia.(hina) np sb
