PODGORICA, Feb 18 (Hina) - Montenegrin President Milo Djukanovic has tendered a resignation to the post of president of the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) at a Feb. 14 DPS session, the Podgorica daily Glas Crnogoraca said on
Sunday. The newspaper claims the DPS leadership accepted the suggestions the European Union has offered for the settlement of relations within the Yugoslav federation, but that Djukanovic said he would resign if the party okayed them. Associates of the Union's high representatives for the common defence and security policy, Javier Solana, returned from Podgorica on Saturday without a firm position on the suggestions on Djukanovic's part. He requested additional time for consultations at all levels.(hina) ha
