ZAGREB, Jan 30 (Hina) - Jadranka Kosor, a Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) parliamentary deputy, apologised on Wednesday to the Social Democrats (SDP) in the parliament for her statement in the Vecernji List daily in which she called
them "Racan's little sheep", but added the SDP deputies' reaction to her statement was nevertheless too harsh. "I apologise most sincerely if my statement offended anyone," Kosor said in parliament today, adding she was sorry her "metaphor hurt anyone". Her statement, she explained, was a term of endearment, a biblical metaphor. Kosor recalled that no such reactions ensued after much harsher words were uttered in parliament, for example, when SDP's Mato Arlovic called Social Liberal Zeljko Glavan "a horse".(hina) sb rml
