NORWEGIAN AMBASSADOR OPENS WATER SUPPLY SYSTEM IN S. CROATIA

SIBENIK, Jan 30 (Hina) - Norwegian Ambassador Knut Toraasen and Sibenik County Prefect Gordan Baraka discussed Norwegian investments in Croatia's tourism and agriculture at a meeting in Sibenik on Wednesday. The prefect welcomed Toraasen's investment proposal, suggesting investing should be directed into mariculture, in which he said Norway had a long-standing experience. The Norwegian ambassador visited Sibenik after Plastovo near Skradin in the Sibenik hinterland, where he opened a water supply system. The local water supply system includes 500 households, into which the Norwegian government and the town of Skradin have invested 200,000 kuna each, while the Sibenik-based company "Water Supply and Sewerage" secured 300,000 kuna. Nearby settlements Krkovic and Bilostanovi should soon be provided with a water supply system within this project. In the past two years, the Norwegian government has invested around four million kuna in the construction of water supply systems and mine clearance in the Skradin area and 100 million kuna in all projects in Croatia. The Norwegian ambassador was accompanied by a group of Norwegian investors, who held talks with the management of the Sibenik ship- repairing yard on the purchase of the company.
