ZAGREB ZAGREB, Jan 25 (Hina) - Minimal living expenses of a four-member family in January were the highest in the southern-most town of Dubrovnik and the lowest in Zagreb, the Independent Croatian Unions (NHS) said Friday. The minimal
costs for food, hygiene, clothing, accommodation, transport and culture in Dubrovnik amounted to 7,233 kuna, and 6,641 kuna in Zagreb. These do not include education, personal hygiene, health care, holidays and sports. According to the NHS, living expenses in Osijek rose by 2.8 percent, in Zagreb by 2.7 percent, in Split by 2.2, and in Rijeka and Dubrovnik by 1.9 percent since November 2001. The cause of such an increase are the higher heating costs and the increase in prices for fruit. According to the 1991 census, an average Croatian household included 3.1 persons.
