ZAGREB, Jan 16 (Hina) - Croatian Ambassador to the United Nations Ivan Simonovic is doing a great job and there is no reason why he should be replaced, Croatian Foreign Minister said, dismissing a statement of Tonci Tadic of the
Croatian Party of Rights (HSP) who claims that the UNMOP mandate was extended due to Simonovic's inability. During a discussion in the parliament, Tadic said the U.N. Mission of Observers on Prevlaka (UNMOP) had to monitor the process of demilitarisation and not prevent the movements of civilians and the control of military activities. He said the UNMOP was systematically violating UN resolutions and the code of the blue helmets and despite all of this the government agreed to extend the UNMOP mandate for another six months. Picula said he believed this was the last extension of the UNMOP mandate. Croatian diplomats did a great job, Picula concluded.(hina) it
