The number of criminal acts in 2003 increased by 7-8 percent compared
to last year, as did the number of solved cases, the police official
said.
Babic said that one of the problems hampering the fight against crime
was obsolete equipment.
The most frequent criminal activities in the area of Zagreb are
robbery, theft and break-ins, he said.
Babic did not present any statistics, saying that the annual report on
police work had not been completed yet.
