independent agency "Prizma", 69 percent of citizens support the
position of Caritas Croatia and trade unions on the work of stores
Sundays, 14 percent of respondents support big chains of stores, while
17 percent are either undecided or do not want to #L#
state their position, the Catholic Press Agency (IKA) has reported.
According to the survey, 63 percent of respondents support Cardinal
Josip Bozanic who criticised a senior IMF official over the request
that the Croatian government give up its plan to ban the work of
stores on Sundays. The IMF was supported by 19 percent of respondents,
while 18 percent were undecided or did not want to state their
position.
Asked whether the government should apply the amended Labour Act
banning shops from working on Sunday, 67 percent of respondents
answered affirmatively, 17 percent negatively, while 16 percent were
undecided or did not want to state their position.
