ZAGREB, Dec 18 (Hina) - Talks between the leaders of the Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) and the Croatian Social Liberal Party (HSLS) on future cooperation which started late on Thursday afternoon, were broken off this evening due to
additional consultations, after which they are expected to resume.

HDZ leader Ivo Banac, his deputy Jadranka Kosor and HDZ Presidency
member Vladimir Seks did not want to comment on the course of the
talks, nor did HSLS vice-presidents Djurdja Adlesic and Ivan Cehok.
According to unofficial sources, the reason for the temporary
discontinuation of the talks may be consultations in the HSLS
regarding its participation in the executive authorities.
