southwest of Sarajevo, in September 1993.

years in prison for committing war crimes against Croats in the
village of Grabovica, about 80km southwest of Sarajevo, in

The sentence was based on the evidence gathered and the confession
of the accused that he had personally killed Pero and Dragica Maric,
husband and wife, on the night between September 8 and 9, 1993.
The district prosecutor's office initiated an investigation into
the crimes in Grabovica, where at least 30 Croat civilians had been
killed, in 1998 with the approval of the UN war crimes tribunal in
The Hague.
