ZAGREB, Dec 1 (Hina) - Croatian Peasant Party (HSS) leader Zlatko Tomcic said on Monday he would recommend that the party's presidency decide against participating in a coalition government led by the Croatian Democratic Union
(HDZ).

presidency decide against participating in a coalition government
led by the Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ). #L#
Tomcic, however, said he would also recommend at a session of the
HSS presidency scheduled for Tuesday that the HSS support the
formation of a minority or majority government with HDZ leader Ivo
Sanader as the most likely prime minister-designate.
"The fact that we have ten representatives in parliament does not
give us the right to have a substantial influence on the policy of
the new government," the HSS president said at a press conference.
Tomcic said he had notified Sanader of this decision.
