RIJEKA, Nov 15 (Hina) - One of the basic platform goals of the
Alliance of Primorje-Gorski Kotar (PGS) is regionalism and the
Croatian People's Party (HNS) feels that "it is impossible to love
Croatia and hate its regions," HNS leader Vesna Pusic said at a PGS
convention in the northern Adriatic city of Rijeka on Saturday.

Pusic heads the HNS-PGS slate for upcoming parliamentary elections
in constituencies nos. 7 and 8.
PGS president Nikola Ivanis, who is second on the slate for
constituency no. 8, voiced hope democratic forces would win the
election and that democratic processes in the country would not be
halted.
Pusic said both parties felt "the most important criterion for
political engagement are quality people".
The job awaiting Croatia over the next four years is too important
to be entrusted to the Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) which has yet
to turn into a modern European party, Pusic said, adding that the
HDZ should reorganise itself as part of the opposition.
