By the end of September, offices for housing issues dealt with
198,000 out of 220,000 claims for the restitution of abandoned
property, or 90 per cent, the spokesman said.
Under the Dayton peace agreement, all people who left their homes in
Bosnia-Herzegovina during the war have the unconditional right to
claim back their houses and apartments regardless of whether they
owned them or had tenancy rights.
Wartime agreements on the exchange or sale of property have been
declared null and void.
