An event called "Brothers Miladinov Days" have been held in Djakovo
for the past nine years and Djakovo and Macedonia's Struga are
sister cities. The event is a sign of Macedonia's gratitude to
Djakovo's bishop Josip Juraj Strossmayer who in 1860 helped
brothers Dimitrij and Konstantin Miladinov to publish the
Collection of Macedonian National Poems, the first such collection
in the Macedonian language.
