The government today amended the Law on Telecommunications with a
decree, which Communications Minister Roland Zuvanic said was
adopted because not all the required bylaws had been adopted and the
work of the Council was not transparent.
This is too important an issue for national economy to be decided by
one man in the period before the new parliament is constituted, said
Zuvanic, confirming that the decree meant the Telecommunications
Council could not invite tenders for the third mobile telephony
operator.
