midnight on Tuesday that it had received a total of 405 lists of candidates for parliamentary elections scheduled for November 23, including 363 party and independent lists and 42 lists of candidates representing ethnic minorities. Of the 5,155 candidates, 3,859 or 74.86 per cent are men and 1,296 or 25.14 per cent women. Their average age is 45.95 years, the average age of male candidates being 46.96 and that of female candidates 42.94 years. Both the youngest male and female candidates were born in 1985. The oldest male candidate was born in 1917 and the oldest female candidate in 1919. Each parliamentary seat is being contested by 34 candidates.
