"Labelling a public television as a political party bulletin
without evidence or public criticism of the institution based on
one or two editorial decisions is a see-through tactic aimed at
pressuring the media and intimidating the journalists," the HHO
said in a statement.
HDZ leaders pointed the finger at Croatian Television, saying it
was the SDP bulletin, while SDP leader Ivica Racan accused Croatian
Television of "an unbalanced coverage" of SDP and HDZ rallies in its
news programmes last weekend.
Condemning these attacks and behaviour of Croatia's leading
politicians, the HHO said it represented the violation of
constitutional values.
The organisation believes such actions are aimed at gaining a
better position in the electoral race.
