ZAGREB, Nov 4 (Hina) - The coverage of the import with the export by 43.6 percent, a speedier rise in the import than in the export and a deficit in trade of 5.7 billion U.S. dollars are main characteristics of Croatia's trade with
other countries in the first nine months of this year.

43.6 percent, a speedier rise in the import than in the export and a
deficit in trade of 5.7 billion U.S. dollars are main
characteristics of Croatia's trade with other countries in the
first nine months of this year. #L#
Croatia's exports in the said period totalled $4.44 billion, rising
by 24.8 percent in comparison to the first nine months of 2002.
Imports amounted to $10.18 billion, with a rise of 31.8 percent as
against the January-September period of 2002, according to
provisional figures released by the Central Bureau of Statistics on
Tuesday.
Trends in Croatia's trade were also influenced by changes in euro-
dollar exchange rates.
