Besides Moisiu, Mesic is due to meet parliament speaker Servet
Pellumbi, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for European
Integration Esmeralda Meksi, Tirana mayor Edi Rama, who will
present him with the keys to the city, and the leader of the
opposition Democratic Party, Sali Berisha.
The Croatian delegation Mesic will head includes Deputy Finance
Minister Damir Kustrak, Maritime Affairs, Transport and
Communications Minister Roland Zuvanic, and Health Minister Andro
Vlahusic.
The two countries will sign two accords -- on cooperation and
assistance in health and medicine, and on cooperation and
assistance in customs issues.
The two sides' talks are expected to address bilateral cooperation
and its advancement, the situation in the region, and the two
countries' process of European integration.
This will be Mesic's second visit to Albania after June 2000.
Last year's trade between the two countries amounted to US$30
million, with an annual growth of 50 percent. Croatia accounts for
about 80 percent of the exchange of commodities.
Croatia and Albania have signed 24 agreements, of which the most
important is the one on free trade, signed at the end of last year
and effective since June 1.
