PULA: MILITARY EXERCISE "SHIELD 2003" ENDS PULA, Oct 24 (Hina) - A two-week military exercise "Shield 2003" ended on Friday at the military range on Cape Kamenjak at Premantura near the northern Adriatic city of Pula. The closing
manoeuvre was attended by the commander of the Croatian army's land forces, Lieutenant General Marijan Marekovic, and members of the diplomatic corps accredited to Croatia.
PULA, Oct 24 (Hina) - A two-week military exercise "Shield 2003"
ended on Friday at the military range on Cape Kamenjak at Premantura
near the northern Adriatic city of Pula. The closing manoeuvre was
attended by the commander of the Croatian army's land forces,
Lieutenant General Marijan Marekovic, and members of the
diplomatic corps accredited to Croatia. #L#
The exercise, which was given a high mark, included 600 members of
the Croatian Navy, Air Force, and land forces.
The course of the exercise was monitored by representatives of the
Natura Histrica public institution, which is in charge of the Cape
Kamenjak protected area. They did not have any objections regarding
the effects of the exercise on the local eco-system.
