The prosecutor did not go to Brussels because Belgium failed to
provide a security escort it usually provides, her spokeswoman
Florence Hartmann told Hina by telephone.
She added that the reason why the usual escort was not provided was
unknown.
Del Ponte was scheduled to address the North Atlantic Partnership
Council.
The council -- consisting of NATO member states and members of its
Partnership for Peace programme, including Croatia -- held a
regular meeting in Brussels on Wednesday.
Del Ponte is scheduled to pay a working visit to Pristina, Sarajevo
and Banja Luka on Thursday and Friday, Hartmann announced.
