THE HAGUE/ZAGREB, Oct 16 (Hina) - A reporter from Sarajevo and two protected witnesses on Thursday testified at the trial of former Yugoslav president Slobodan Milosevic about the war in northern Bosnia in the spring of 1992. #L# Sead Omeragic, a war reporter for the "Slobodna Bosna" weekly, spoke about his visit to Bijeljina on 4 April 1992, when he attended a meeting between Zeljko Raznatovic Arkan, Biljana Plavsic, Fikret Abdic and the commander of the Yugoslav People's Army Tuzla Corps. Arkan's "Tigers" had previously seized Bijeljina, killing several dozen civilians and forcing out non-Serbs. Protected witness B-1453, a former police officer from Brcko, spoke about weapons and military equipment that were sent by truck and train from Serbia to Bosnia-Herzegovina in the spring of 1992. He spoke about the role of Arkan's men in taking Brcko and the plundering of the town by Chetniks. He said the police did nothing to prevent this. Protected witness B-1445, an official of the Bosniak Party of Democratic Action in Doboj, northern Bosnia, completed his testimony today. He stated that the Serb Democratic Party of Radovan Karadzic had implemented a strategy of creating a Greater Serbia on the local level. The trial of the former Yugoslav president, who is charged with genocide in Bosnia-Herzegovina, and war crimes in Croatia and Kosovo, resumes next Tuesday. (hina) rml sb
