The project was launched in cooperation with the Croatian
government and the Croatian Emigration Institute. About 2.5
million Croatian expatriates will be able to watch eight hours of
domestically produced programming, which will be repeated twice
daily.
Addressing Croatian audiences worldwide, Prime Minister Ivica
Racan said that the project was designed to inform Croats living
abroad about events in their homeland.
Racan thanked Croatian expatriates for their contribution to the
war of independence in the 1990s and the promotion of the Croatian
national and cultural identity in more than 40 countries of the
world.
The special programme marking the start of 24-hour broadcasting
also relayed greetings from President Stjepan Mesic.
