Split on Tuesday for the construction of 86 kilometres of the
Zagreb-Split highway. #L#
The deal was signed by Deutsche Bank, Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi and
Mizuho Corporate Bank as well as by a syndicate of six European
banks, with guarantees provided by the Croatian government and
insurance by the Japanese state-run insurance company Nippon
Export & Insurance (NEXI).
The period for the repayment of the loan is 13 years, with a three-
year grace period and a 3.5-percent interest rate.
The loan will provide the remaining funds necessary for the
completion of the highway by the June 2005 deadline.
